We shoot the way the day actually happens. The quiet before the ceremony, the grandmother who cannot stop laughing, the speech that goes on too long and is perfect anyway. No posed re-runs, no directing you through your own wedding.

Rooted in Nepali and South Asian weddings, at home in any of them. We have filmed sagun in family living rooms and vows in English country houses, and the approach is the same: be present, be invisible, and make something you will still watch in twenty years.

Two of us, present all day

Kathaa Studio is run by Nishan and Raai, two filmmakers with a passion for filmmaking. We grew up around Nepali weddings and know when the important moments are about to happen, which is most of the job.

We keep the camera out of the way, light with what is in the room, and edit for feeling over flash. Every film gets a licensed soundtrack and a proper colour grade, because you will watch this more than once.
